India win by eight wickets.

KARACHI: India beat Pakistan by eight wickets in the last ODI match at Karachi’s National Stadium on Sunday. India has won the series by 4-1. 

Earlier, Pakistan made 286 runs for loss of eight wickets setting 287 runs challenging target for the visitors. 
India captain Rahul Dravid became the fourth Indian and eighth batsman to score over 9,000 runs in one-day internationals. He achieved the feat in the third over of the Indian innings driving Mohammad Sami to the cover boundary.

Dravid was eventually out for 50, taking him to 9,048 runs. Dravid joined compatriots Sachin Tendulkar, who leads the all-time highest aggregate with 14,146 runs at 44.20 from 362 matches, Sourav Ganguly and Mohammad Azharuddin in achieving the feat.

Scores: Pakistan 286-8 in 50 overs (Younis Khan 74 not out, Mohammad Yousuf 67; Shanthakumaran Sreesanth 4-58); 

India 287-2 in 46.5 overs (Yuvraj Singh 107 not out, Mahendra Singh Dhoni 77

Pakistan set 287 runs target for India in Karachi one-dayer.

KARACHI: Younis Khan and Mohammed Yousuf lead the home side out of dire straits by their 99 runs fifth wicket partnership on Sunday, in last ODI against India at Karachi’s National Stadium. 

Pakistan made 286 runs for loss of eight wickets setting 287 runs challenging target for the visitors. 

Earlier, Indian captain Rahul Dravid won his third successive toss Sunday morning and sent Pakistan to bat. 

Vice Captain Younis Khan made 74 runs in his unbeaten innings, while another senior Pakistan batsman Mohammed Yousuf played 67 runs innings. 

Sreesanth captured four wickets for 58 runs, while Zaheer Khan, Agarkar, R.P. Singh and Powar took one wicket each.

India win toss, field first in 5th ODI 

 KARACHI: India won the toss and elected to field in the last and fifth One Day International against Pakistan here at National Stadium, Karachi. 

Pakistan team has replaced Salman Butt and Rana Naveedul Hassan with Imran Farhat and Rau Iftakhar while Indian team replaced Sachin Tendulkar and Irfan Pathan with RR Pawar and Zaheer Khan. 

Pakistan team comprises of Kamran Akmal, Imran Farhat, Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Yousuf, *Inzamam-ul-Haq, Younis Khan, Abdul Razzaq, Yasir Arafat, Mohammad Sami, Mohammad Asif, Iftikhar Anjum and Faisal Iqbal. 

While the Indian team comprises of G Gambhir, *R Dravid, Yuvraj Singh, M Kaif, SK Raina, +MS Dhoni, RR Powar, AB Agarkar, Z Khan, RP Singh, S Sreesanth and M Kartik.

India beat Pakistan by five wickets

India has won the fourth one-day international against Pakistan by five wickets, which was being played at Multan stadium here on Thursday. 

Earlier, Pakistan set an easy target of 162 runs for India to win the fourth one-dayer.

Indian skipper Rahul Dravid won toss and elected to field in the morning. The decision proved crucial as no Pakistani batsmen was able to add sufficient runs to the innings of the home side. Skipper Inzamamul Haq 49, was the top scorer of Pakistani innings. 

India have a winning 3-1 lead. 

Indian score: Rahul  Dravid 59, Yuvraj Singh 37 and SK Raina 35 and Dhoni scored 2 runs.

Pakistan set 162 runs target for India in Multan ODI

MULTAN: Pakistan set an easy target of 162 runs for India to win the fourth one-day international at Multan stadium here on Thursday.

Indian skipper Rahul Dravid won toss and elected to field in the morning. The decision proved crucial as no Pakistani batsmen was able to add sufficient runs to the innings of the home side. Skipper Inzamamul Haq 49, was the top scorer of Pakistani innings.

Kamran Akmal 03, Salman Butt 13, Shoaib Malik 09, Younis Khan 0, Mohammed Yousuf 25, Imran Farhat 14, Abdul Razzaq 01, Muhammad Asif 06 and Mohammed Sami made 11 runs. Navedul Hassan 13, remained unbeaten.

Irfan Pathan captured three and R.P. Singh grabbed four Pakistani wickets for India. Sreesanth, Tendulkar and Agarkar took one wicket each.

 

India wins toss, chooses to field in Multan ODI

MULTAN: Indian captain Rahul Dravid has won toss and put Pakistan to bat first in fourth one- dayer at Multan Cricket Stadium here on Thursday.

India  leading the five matches series by 2-1. India retained the same squad that played Lahore ODI  whereas Pakistan made one change brining Muhammad Sami in place of Shahid Afridi.

Fourth one dayer tomorrow

MULTAN: Pakistan would take on India in the fourth one dayer of five matches one-day series here tomorrow (Thursday).

Pakistani skipper Inzamamul Haq said that his team would try hard to win remaining two matches of the series. Both the teams conducted practice session in Multan Cricket Stadium. Replacement of Shoaib Akhter, Muhammad Sami also took part in the practice.

In a press conference after training session, Inzamamul Haq said that Rao Iftikhar has been called as a back up of Umer Gul whose suffering knee injury. Kamran Akmal or Imran Farhat may join Salman Butt to open Pakistan’s innings, he added.

Indian captain Rahul Dravid said that 270-300 runs would be a fighting total ob Multan wicket.

Cricket fevers at its peak in the city and tickets of the match have been sold out completely.
