Public buildings like schools, colleges ,hospitals, bridges are the most common that collapsed due to earthquake. A huge number of students in these institutions are among those killed.

The corrupt contractors & public officials ( Building Works Depptt & others who give clean chit without inspection) are directly responsible for this unforgettable loss of life.

Corruption is rampant in our country. I hope not that any action will be taken against the culprits. May God that day comes when justice prevails in our homeland.

This is high time that Federal Govt should launch a nation wide inspection of all public buildings & lodge criminal cases against responsible corrupt public officials & contractors.

Dear Muslim brothers and sisters, in this universe everything happens for a reason. What has just happened was already predicted by many believers of true Islamic faith. The limited resources and skills for the disaster management and relief 
operations will require a different strategy for a long-term sustained recovery. The plea for help from nations of opposite faith will only worsen this situation.

Instead of blaming government for the slow response and poor building Code regulations, it is the right time and opportunity for the faith-based leaders to step in and take charge through non-political activities including personal assistance and counseling for the survivors.

Now we have seen a Qayamat-e-Sughra in northern part of our beloved country and its neighborhoods . Such episodes reminds us of the Judgment Day and you can Imagine what terrible day it will be. Our prayers for all our beloved who fall under this catastrophe and we pray for us that Allah save us from such disaster in future.
At this point I would like to suggest Govt of Pakistan that they start evacuating peoples from Affected areas in to the Main Land and provide them food and shelter in Punjab and Sind. Instead of dropping food and trying to rebuild the road as our Minister says it is govt.'s top priority to re-build the roads to these areas. People can't survive like this at this moment, they need immediate evacuation and shelters. For how long you will keep dropping food and how much time it will take you to re-build the roads. It s also a difficult task for emergency teams to go out in these areas and help affected peoples. You got a Lot of Helicopters so bring these people to plain grounds and provide them help , it will be a lot easier and a lot of Lives can be saved. The Aim should be SAVE PEOPLES and not the infrastructures. Please make space available in the main land, start building shelters, some teams needs to take care of emergency kits, foods and tents in these areas. It will be easier.
At the same time evacuate peoples from the affected areas and bring them in shelters as fast as you can.

I want to add some information about donations, as I know a lot of people here in USA who are looking where to donate. I came across unicef's website last night and they are accepting donations specially for Pakistan.

But Let me tell you that Govt is trying its best.Poeple were expecting a relief with in 1 day.But if we talk about the ground reality then we know very well the only way to help out them was Cranes and heavy machinery and it is not possible due to block roads.The other way was byair and govt is using it.Currenlty every helicopter available in Pakistan is present in those areas .But ofcource these helicopters cant remove the tons of load.The only thing they can do, is transfering injeured people and they are doing it. 
Secondly most of poeple and media is talking abt poor response from Army present in those area.But can u think that the earthquake which make this destruction in those area has left Army untouch.I have a confirmed news that Bergade Commander of Muzfrabad or Balacot Army also died in this diaster.The army personal who are alive also need help from outside. Let me say that govt is hiding deth toll of Amry Personel due to sensitvity of that area.
I am not taking side of Govt there is no doubt that there was no pre-arangements to handle such situatuons but we can raise such issue after coming out from this diaster.Its time to help the govt to come out from this diaster.Govt cant handle this alone.Now we have to build whole cities from zero.
Lets Pray that May Allah help the injuered people and keep their families safe.Some of us who cant give bigger denotions but can at least pray for them.

I am Kashif Salam living in Karachi, and student of school. I want to share my deep sorrow with our country mates. And I would like to give some suggestion for the President, Prime minister of Pakistan and ministers of Pakistan. 

1. Firstly I appreciate all government machinery for helping people.
2. Second, I want to appeal all people to donate in the relief fund.
3. Third and last I want to say why people of Islamabad and other nearby areas are living at a ground or in a parks. They should be taken to prime minister house and president house and not to forget ministers louges as there are many rooms vacated for a long time. Now assembly session has been postponed and ministers louges are empty, people can live there as they are very much comfortable there.
4. Fourth , I would say that the large menu of food of president and prime minister house should be cut and then supplies to the people. 

These are the basic recommendations by me.

I have just read message sent by my brother Mr. Muhammad Riyaz from USA. I just want to ask one thing if he has only right to criticize and nothing to donate. 

I'm an export manager and has visited most of the world including US and have sufficient awareness about system being in world. Have immediate measures were taken in US in recent Katrena.

Every body from world as well as Pakistan is trying to donate. Every body is helping. Im trying to send maximum help. Our family has decided to not arrange new cloths on eid but to serve our brothers. Its not time to criticize but to help. 

I have seen 2 hours before that number of trucks were travelling towards Muzaffarabad and Balakot. Its not government but our brothers and sisters are doing so.

My name is Muhammad Zaheer and i am a resident of Abbottabad(Pakistan), studying here in London. With the grace of Allah and efforts of pakistani's, the relief work is now on its full swing and inshAllah Allah will bless all. I have been in contact with my family and my brother in abbottabad said that people are in high spirits and working day and night for the relief work. He also said that the moral is high and army is moving heavy machinery to the northern areas.
I have seen that most of pakistani's abroad want to make donations that are utilized quickly and efficiently without any corruption and delay. So i would like to mention that volunteer group from our area in Abbottabad , have already started working backed by the local and international friends grant of appx 4 lac rupees. they set up a medical and aid camp in balakot today on 10th october and plan to set up the camps in differnt areas. He said that there may be 1 lac casualities as most of the areas are still not reached. We are raising funds in our community here and with the grace of Allah have managed to raise appx 1500 pounds to be sent to them which will be utilitzed inshAllah ASAP. This incident has hit all of us deep inside... we will never be able to forget what had happened to our Pakistani fellows. i don't have words to share sympathies with any one. We are not able to eat anything on sehri or aftar since this has happened. My 7 year old nephew was fasting today just to pray Allah to give relief to all those in Pakistan, Kashmir and India. My family is back in Pakistan in a village called Hathi Mera, located a half hour drive away from Mansehra. all my villagers are sleeping under blue sky. it is very cold there. Almost all the children are sick by now because of cold weather and fear.My cousin said that her daughter who is two and half years old, looks at the sky and says ALLAH MAFI..whenever there is an after shock. they said pray for us if we are dead and that you are there to come and put us in the graveyard... I have not been moved from GEO and ARY for three days. I request to the govt of Pakistan , that there are not humans only under the rubble of Margala Towers, but all those in Mansehra, Muzafarabad, Bagh, all those citizens of Pakistan are also human beings. there was a lot of army in Abbottabad and Shankiyari. why these soldiers were not used to help people, while the roads were blocked and no body could come out of the NWFP. why didn't they try to send those thousands of people who wanted to help, those people buried in margalla towers, to those areas in Mansehra and its villegers through helicopters. we and every single person who has a heart, no matter where he is from and what religion does he belong to, is desperate for all those who died, burried under the rubble and THOSE WHO ARE ALIVE BUT HAVE NO LIFE INSIDE. Lets all pray, "Oh Allah please forgive us on our sins and let them out of this worse part of their life".

1. Tents.

There is lots of activities which made this .... like Zulam, Nainsafi, Baimani, Curruption, Zana, Sharab, Jowa, and worst of all "Roshan Hayali". Some people will say that "masoom logoon ka kia kasoor hay" but remember Whenever ALLAH ka Qehar nazil hota hay too masoom begunah children oldest and all survive. Show, Basant our banks and TV is calling people for 10 millions ru! pees  lottery which all are totally HARAM things in Islam after that what we are expecting from ALLAH that every thing should be continued like now, no chance. If today, anyhow you bring Sheik Abdul Qadir Jilaani as a president of Pakistan and Junaid Baghdai as his advisor, the situation of

There are no words to say on this tragic incident. I would just like to share one thought that might be helpful for the rehabilitation works. In past few months lot of money were wasted in local bodies elections. According to some sources approximately Rs 50 - 60 lacs were spent by each Nazim candidate as avearge and then town Nazim's might have spent more, what for? Even General councilor candidates spent in millions. Well if that much amount can be wasted on a useless thing atleast 10 % of that amount from each candidates whether they won or lost can be of how much effect? But who will do it? Yesterday there was a news in daily Jang regarding newly elected Nazim, Lahore Mian Amer Mehmood that he himself will go to each market for collection of money but how much he will share himself. He was the one who once said that he is ready to spent Rs 5 crores to become Member Parliament and every one saw that how much he spent in his previous election of Nazim. Has any one have the courage to initate from this level.............World has seen that we wasted hell of amount, so can we just put our share in that way. Consider it an election of humanity. I don't think so that it will make much of difference to many if they put their share but it can be of immence use to those effectees.

but we deeply regret the absence of chaudhry purvez elahi chief minister of punjab and chaudhry shujaat the president of muslim league. it is a matter of great dishonesty with the people of pakistan that both these dignitatories are in england with their families to attend the wedding of purvez elahi's son. i understand such is not a moment to criticise someone but i feel guilty that we have chosen them to help people in such calamities. nomrally people cancel their weddings even if their family servants die.... but afreen on these leaders that to my best calculated estimate around 75000 people are dead and more than 1,000,000 people are suffering from the after-effects of earthquake but these Chaudhries never bothered to delay the happiest moment of their lives and come back to see what people of northern areas need and how can they best help them.

We once again feel proud to be the nation gifted with the best heart and we all must come forward help each other....

Corrupt Government, Corrupt Ministers, Corrupt Officials are so rampant in
Pakistan that each and every individual who wants to help has reservations.

Why Pakistan has so few helicopters when 1/2 of the budget goes into defense and helicopters are an essential part of the defense team? Now again the Government of Pakistan is begging rather it should be self sufficient to fulfill it's obligation, and management of the crisis is a step towards that direction. This kind of disaster can occur in Karachi sometime in future,
and Pakistan has no plan to deal with such an event. I believe that no one in Pakistan will take this disaster as a
wakeup call, and as usual once this crisis is over the Government and it's machinery will fall asleep rather prepare itself for any such crisis to occur.

Rather utilizing over resources and money on JASHNE BHARAN, on Flying Kites (Millions of Rupees spent), on dramas, on parties, on dances, money should be preserved on meeting the basic needs and for such unseen crisis like these
which can occur any time also in future. Crisis Management is a science which does not exist in Pakistan, and Pakistan should take it very seriously.

We all should take this incident as a Wake-Up Call. We should ask for forgiveness to Allah and try to fix errors, dishonesty and all those things that may cause further disaster.

Rescue Operation is on way, we can not get those back who lost their lives but we should close this file in account of AZAB-e-ELAHI also. We should see where we lack to overcome with this type of disaster. We have seen out Disaster Recovery or RISK MANAGEMENT skills are at its low scale.

We could not reach to places where people are yet under debris. We had been over-looked this for a long time but now this is the time we should fix it. ALSO, our TRADITIONAL CARELESS ATTITUDE one more time endorsed that MARGALA TOWER that collapsed was not built as per standard building codes.

So, despite the fact of earthquake, we should find responsible persons for that Margals Tower and hang them in front of Supreme Court right away. If we don't do this, this will never be learnt by those type of corrupt people.

My name Nasir Abbasi. I am writing this email from Houston, TX USA. I am from village Munasa, Tehasil Dhirkot, Distt. Bagh Azad Kashmir. 

My village is located 45 KM North East of Muzaffar Abad and 12 KM from Kahola to ward going to Dhirkot and Chaman Kot. It also located 40 Mile from Murree to ward Muree, Kohala, Dhirkoat Road. I am a constant contact with my brother Naveed Abbasi via Cell Phone. (300-550-6766) We have around three hundred house in village Munasa. All of the house expect 4-5 have been destroyed. 99% of all houses been vanished from the face of earth. More than 22 people have been killed.

Still many people are underneath the damage houses derbies. The don’t have any machinery or help to take out those people from underneath those damage buildings.

They did not see any help from government or Army. Please convey my message to PM Relief cell, Army Rescue effort team, Disaster real if ministry to send some rescue helps to my village. 

I also want to add that 6 more villages around Village Munasa are completely destroyed from this face of the earth. People are forced to stay in plain fields. 

People need help with recovery of people from damaged buildings, tents, blankets, food and medicine. If you can please convey this message to proper authorities I will really Appreciate it

I've family living in Baffa and villages around Baffa. I have got to contact them and they are in bad shape. Those who have survived are lying in the open without food, shelter or medicine. I request to local authorities to please go there and give them at least tents so they can also survive heavy rain after earthquakes.

More than 3000 person (including school children) have benn died at Muzaffarabad and its so terrible that there is no light no water for the people over there.the people are spending nights out side their homes there is no one to help them?where is every one?no boday is coming to rescue them.i have talked to the people at mzd several times but their condition is really bad.i request u to plz take some action over this. People of Muzaffarabad are waiting for some official to come and share their grief. I would like to request GEO news reporter to spare some time & give some coverage to poor people of Muzaffarabad.the condiotin is really bad there,people are help less and they surely need help.

Assalam-Alaikum - Words are inadequate to express my feelings of sorrow and sadness. This shocking news has encountered my heart in such a way that I can feel all the pain inside me just like the people who are suffering from this disaster. Our nation really needs a program like civil defense training, first aid and rescue training in such manners if they face any disaster like this they can at least save their and other's lives. My humble request to our Government if they can plan some thing like that for their people.

If it were up to me i would have returned this forced gesture and spared them from losing their precious money!

First of all i'd like to offer my sincere regret on the loss of life on this great national tragedy....I think it would be of help to everyone if a list of the names of those deceased could be put up..on geo and other TV networks...aswell as special messages delivered by victims so tht their relatives living abroad or in Karachi can be informed...I am saying this not because i have a family member there but because my domestic servant Ali Zaman who i consider as a brother has his entire family in aarlian jabarkin in muzzafarabad..and has no way of finding out what happened to his family...and even on my father's insistence to fly him over there he has lost all hope of survival.....i would also like to suggest that infra red scanners be used to locate people surviving under the rubble...so that their exact pin point location can be traced....i also appeal  to all cities of Pakistan to start a massive blood drive...and for centers to be formed in each city for donation of various items....Furthermore they should announce a public holiday for the next 3 days so that people can reach these affected places and help out....instead of having to go to work and school for the elder students

It was a very tragic and disastrous day. Lot of people died and suffered in a powerful earthquake. They lost there home and love ones. But a very disappointing thing is that Government doesn’t have Emergency Plan’s or teams to come over such disastrous moments. I saw on Geo Television and other Television Networks in Live Session. That, In Islamabad there were no paramedical Personnel, Rescue workers, crane machines, Firefighters on the site after 2 to 3 hours. Which is capital of Pakistan. Where Islamabad Administration requesting from the Private Sector to help and for crane machines for moving heavy blocks and objects.

 Now you can assume what is going in remote areas where villages are flattened completely and badly affected in earthquake, a most of effective places were schools, where nearly thousand of children died. Still people are waiting for Help to pull out from the collapsing buildings. People are doing by there own resources. But these resources are not enough to help or come over such disastrous to pull out from collapsing buildings.

This happened due to our deeds. ALLAH help all the peoples those are facing this situation and save our country. But it is a curse of ALLAH on us due to our bad deeds. All my sympathies and sorrow for this earthquake's victim

The news gave us an heartfelt shock which caused an havoc with the thousands of lives who are badly affected by this Natural calamity. Our dear countrymen have died in an  unaccountable number (Inna lillah wa Inna ilaeh rajahoon) .  We pray to Allah SWT to shower his Infinite mercy upon the dead and grant courage and fortitude to bereaved families to bear this irreparable loss.

The calamity hit areas are portraying the pictures of devastation that Allah has all the Power that we should Open Our Eye and Learn a lesson from this calamity hit areas.

The Irony is that the govt Machinery is not gear up to meet such unforeseen challenges events.  We do not have such equipment which could be utilized for safe rescue of the people trampled under mundane debris.  It is the state of capital, Islamabad where the people stuck in the debris, cannot be rescued immediately and the time is running at a fast pace, even a single second should be neglected, and strive our best to rescue the people.  The plight of people in the remotest hilly areas where communication and transportation are not available, how their situation could be addressed, this is the question?

While seeing the destruction caused due to sever earthquack, tears are not stopping from eyes. This is really a great loss to the people of Pakistan. Allah save my country and countrymen from such disasters. Thousands of my countrymen are in dire trouble. We should help them in all ways. For donations I shall recommend Edhi Trust.  Just for comparison, whole Punjab Govt. announced 5 crore Rs. and alone Edhi trust announced 5 crores for this disaster.

Islam is islam, there is no Moderation in Islam, our Govt. and all so called modern Pakistanis should realize that this is a warning from Allah that stop following the ways and lives of non-muslims. We should follow the real teachings of Islam.

In our part of the world, channels we can afford are PTV1, PTV World, Indus, certainly it was a shock to follow a news on the disaster when all I could find was a music rocking from Indus a drama serial from PTV1 and the only source was PTV World pushing news from the past. GOD these Producers & Directors don’t have heart to feel the pain of their Muslims Brothers & Sisters. I wonder what would have happened if one of their own dies in the mishap like these.

I am sure that all such Schools, Hospitals and Public Buildings, were made with a very weak construction material and took bribes for them selves and for the Contractors all over the Country. They are the Killers of mostly the Young Children who gave their lives in this natural calamity, but in fact the Contractors and the PWD staff in-charge are responsible for poor construction.

Hope you will take this matter at your media level as well as with Higher Authorities for redress to the bereaved families

I would like to share the heartiest sad feelings with all Pakistanis who have suffered with this disaster. Though our grief is unbounded but we'll have to face the situation with patience & courage. I would like to mention here that not only we've to financially support the victims but also socially we've to play our role to retain their position in the society.

I am zahid nawaz from Germany. Today i have listened this choking news. But I am surprised to see these
facts that most of School, Hospital and other Govt Institutions are destroyed. Question is why mostly Govt institutions? 
Following are some reasons.
1) May be because of bad quality work and poor material. 
2) No govt institution going to check the Quality of work and constriction material used in those buildings or if there is any govt institution then he will collect some money (As Rishwat) from constructor and reported that work is super Quality. 
3)No housing planning in ruler areas or like some modern cites like Muzferabad, Mansehra, Rawlakots etc.
4)Poor Engineering work? or in some cases No Engineering work before construction of building. Just some so called constructors (Thekadar) those are completely unqualified regarding to Building Engineering  are responsible. I suggest that govt should investigate this matter very seriously and responsible Constructors(Thekadars) should face trails in court and be punished. Responsible Authorities should cancel there licensees and these peoples should fined to support effected families. 
I request all Pakistanis to contribute to help people in any possible way ( by Money/Medical help/ Blood/ Logistic support / food / shelter etc ). May God keep every one safe.
