Why do I cast vote? Why don't I cast vote? What is your opinion?

Note: Elections held in the country over last two decades have exhibited the lowering trend of  vote casting amongst the people.

Your Opinion

I don't cast my vote as politicians have always shattered my confidence mercilessly. Fact is that they are corrupt and selfish. During the last 55 years they have only filled their own pockets. The unfortunate is that they are still thirsty than ever. They have only given us deprivation, poverty and illiteracy.

Pakistan don't need political system.  We need only one-man show by a sincere leader like President Pervez Musharraf who, if allowed, can alone can make Pakistan the second Malaysia.

We should cast our vote because if we don't cast it, then we would have no right to complain against problems. We know that the previous governments were selfish and dishonest. We continued electing people’s representatives despite they were corrupt.

Let us forget the past history and start work afresh to bring honest and educated persons in the assemblies. God has given us a lot of wisdom to elect the right men. Let us give these people a chance to lead us. After this election, I hope Pakistan will be one of the best countries.

I cast my vote to stop the looters from joining the assemblies as they are the scared houses.

I will not cast my vote because of the fact that none of the governments has been successful over the last 55 years to ensure the safety to the lives and properties of the people. Irony is that even the basic amenities of health and education were not provided to them. The list of such complaints is endless.

The prevailing situation in the country shows that the next government will be very week. May God bless Pakistan.

I think democracy and Islam can never go together. It is only God who reserves the right to legislate.  In Islam, there is a well known saying that if a person aspires for leadership, it should not be given to him.

I think we must cast vote, as it is the only tool a nation can have against a military dictator, who concentrated on more powers. People want change overnight. They should realise that even successful nations like America and Britain too had to face mountains of problems in their early years, but they did not allow any military dictator to
interfere, and stuck to democracy and eventually succeeded. We too must realise that every success has a price: perseverant and patient struggle. We must therefore exercise our right to vote whenever possible.

I don't cast vote as same people always come in the assemblies. I don't believe in such representatives whose manifestos contain the bundles of lies.

Why do I cast my vote on the call of a dictator general, who altered the constitution in his favour to stay in power.  When the elected representatives are removed so mercilessly then what is the need to waste the money. This all is nothing but to make people foolish again and again. For God sake stop these tactics. It is enough now.

Do I cast my vote in such elections, which are being held by Musharraf after amending the constitution? He will definitely make such a cabinet that will not be able to shake and challenge him. I just want to tell all my people that this country must be by the people where power should be with some else instead of military. It must be the power under the super power of Quran and Hadith. May Allah bless us what we lack.

In open society, every one has own reason to cast or not to cast vote. But casting a vote is in fact a national responsibility irrespective of whether you like or not the party, politicians or the candidates.  I salute those who have served this obligation.

The election results are not unexpected.  If they are engineered as claimed by number of loosing political leaders, it’s ok too. But one thing is certain that these results have provided Pakistan a timely opportunity for the formation of a national government. All parties should accept election results with open arms, foster unity amongst themselves and forgive past differences for the sake of the country.

Our elected representatives and people should take the challenges of the sensitive developments along our borders and events taking place globally.

The majority of people were not interested in the elections 2002 because of the fact that elected representatives have never taken constructive and meaningful steps for the welfare of people.

Cast your vote. Be proud that you are an independent and free people. God will help those who help themselves.  Let us cast our vote with responsibility and contribute to the efforts for the restoration of the democracy.

The voters in Pakistan have lost faith and confidence among their political leaders. They are well aware that the rosy promises of traditional politicians will turn into thorny happenings for the people of the country and result of the lip service will remain zero.

Voters have the examples of even big political leaders who were elected by them with a hope that they will serve the people of country, but they only served themselves and worked for their own vested interests.

I do not want to cast my vote in the upcoming general elections, because casting of a vote has now become a useless thing in a country like Pakistan where so many problems remain always unsolved despite repeated elections.

Casting of the vote is a national duty. I would like to cast my vote only to an honest and patriot person who can serve the humanity in real manner.

The reason of low turnout of voters in the country is due to the hollow slogans of the politicians who gave their voters nothing without disappointment. The interference of army in political affairs of the country has also shattered the confidence of voters.

Casting of a vote is a national duty. Elections are the only way to elect our leaders. Anyone who does not cast a vote is actually missing his right.

It is still difficult to decide about a candidate despite being a graduate. It would be easy to decide if voters can have single page resumes of the candidates.

We should cast our votes in the general elections, as it is our national duty. We should not cast them due to unwanted results of past elections in Pakistan.

I will not cast my vote this time. Its first reason is that the Kings Party will get heavy mandate.  The second reason is that the turnout of the voters may be less than the referendum.

In 1997 Elections I was among those 85% voters who wanted to make Pakistan strongest and opted Nawaz Sharif as the leader of the nation. I was satisfied with all his policies. I felt really proud when he refused to bow before America and made Pakistan a nuclear state.

I was also satisfied with the economic progress of the country. But on October 12, 1999, my vote was dishonored as all the national and provincial governments were dismissed just to satisfy the ego of one person. Now, I do not want my vote to be insulted again.

I do not cast my vote. The reason is that the decision cannot be made on incomplete information about a candidate. Never in the history of Pakistan the resume of any candidate has been presented before the voters prior to the elections.

For the organizations to work efficiently, the qualification, competency and experience related to the job is always required. Even the job of an office boy in the smallest organization is not given without checking his bio-data. How one can make a decision to appoint some one to run the affairs of a state when these things have not been considered. In the galaxy of inexperienced, uneducated and untrained politicians, Pakistan Army is the best choice to run the affairs of the state.

I know from my own experience that the army officers are well-trained in their all field, from battlefield to even management. Every Chief of the Army Staff starts duty as a cadet and passes through each rank structure before becoming a General. An experience of more than 25 to 30 years of an Army Chief is not a joke. That is why the Generals are the most competent lot to run the state.

I do not cast vote because I will never prefer politicians over the Army.

I will cast my vote for sincerity whatever it may be.  Casting of the vote is also every one’s national duty.

Why should I cast my vote when there is no credibility of elections? If a prime minister, despite having 2/3 majority, is kicked out, then what is the need for holding the general elections and wasting billions of rupees of the national exchequer on such type of the elections?

Aleem

I do not want to cast my vote in the upcoming general elections, as it will do anything. It is useless to cast a vote in a country like Pakistan.
